Turn Off Cross-Platform Play in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, crossplay allows players on different platforms to play together, which provides players with a wider range of matchmaking options. However, some players may wish to turn this feature off in order to play with other players on the same platform.

Why turn crossplay off?

There are a variety of reasons to turn crossplay off. First, many players believe that PC players using a mouse and keyboard may have an advantage in shooting accuracy and reaction speed over console players using a controller. This difference can lead to an unfair playing field, especially in competitive modes. Second, some players may prefer to play with familiar friends or other players on the same platform to enhance social interaction and teamwork.

How to turn crossplay off
To turn crossplay off on PlayStation
Go to the settings menu: Launch Black Ops 6 and find and select the “Settings” option in the main menu.
Select Accounts & Network: In the settings menu, find the “Accounts & Network” option.
Turn off the crossplay option: In the “Crossplay” option, switch its setting from “On” to “Off”. At this point, you will only be able to match with other players who have turned off crossplay.

Turn off cross-platform play on Xbox
Xbox users have slightly more complicated steps:
Open the Xbox Settings menu: Press the “Xbox” button on your Xbox controller to enter the main menu.
Select Online Safety & Family: Find the “Online Safety & Family” option in Settings.
Privacy & Online Safety: Next, select “Privacy & Online Safety,” then click “Xbox Privacy.”
View Details & Customize: Here, find the “View Details & Customize” option.
Communication & Multiplayer: Select “Communication & Multiplayer,” then change the “You can join cross-network games” option to “Block.” With that, you’ve successfully turned off cross-platform play.

Turning off cross-platform play on PC
It’s worth noting that there is currently no option to turn off cross-platform play in the PC version of Black Ops 6. This means that PC players will not be able to individually choose to only match with other PC players. However, since most console players use controllers, PC players generally don’t feel much inequality.

Impact
After turning off cross-platform play, players will only be matched with other players on the same platform. This may result in longer matchmaking times due to a reduced number of available opponents. Nonetheless, this will ensure a more even playing field, helping to improve the overall experience.

Turning off cross-platform play in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a simple and effective way for players to tailor their gaming experience to their personal preferences. Whether it’s to avoid competing against PC players or to enjoy a more intimate co-op mode with friends, this feature can meet the needs of different players. By following the steps above, players can easily manage their matchmaking settings to get a gaming experience that better suits their expectations.
